Hi once again..
I am in Abu Dhabi w/ my cousins (all 5 of them). The weather here is breezy and temperate. It is usually nice and sunny, and there are two cats, Lilo and Tina Fey.
I really hate plane rides. Geez, I was either on a plane or in an airport, and really was tiring...

New question.. new something I don't understand/know....
Hope I will know ....

I wonder who I am

deadlines, deadlines (literally!)

hey!
Well, its just been so up tight on schedule and all about 1 thing to sum up:
DEADLINES
for 2 writing classes, mock trial, e cubed, and a bunch of others..
Whoever made up the word deadlines was not kidding when they said DEAD-lines!
Geez, i feel like sick, tired, and dizzy with all of these deadlines spinning me in different directions!
I basically feel DEAD, as in deceased, passing away, however you wanna say it....

having 2 or more deadlines = deadeadeadeadEADEADEADeadeadeadead(goes on till infinity)

gregor mendel, hilighters, cilantro, latin and other things

today seems to be an ordinary day. just an ordinary day. here are the proofs:
1. gregor mendel (science hw)
2. highlighters (idk, i think bcuz one is always lying somewhere and i always am seeing too many of them around the house..)
3. cilantro (chopping it, it has such a distinct smell, i always get it all over my hands geez todays no different)
4. latin class (same latin class complete w/ lotsa hw and esp now since im the only student in latin which STINKS)
.
.
.
okay so i think thats.. about... it.. except that today happens to be..........

(DRUMROLL)

Okay are you ready for this..
i don't think so..

MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
See i just knew there was something special about today since it seemed too ordinary!
(im not kidding that its my b'day bdw..)
see it all goes to prove that birthdays can be ordinary days too =)

My congressman is a rocket scientist

Okay, some say our congressman, Rush Holt is a Career Politician, which means being a politician is his job, which means he will be in office until the apocalypse, which is just downright NOT TRUE. In fact, Rush Holt wasn't even studying politics before he was elected as congressman, he was a SCIENTIST in the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab. I know that some rivaling competitors for congress (**hint hint Scott Sipperelle) are wrongfully labelling him a "career politician" but I'm just here to tell you truth about it. Take it or leave it it's still the unchanged (maybe horrible for some) truth.

Comprehending the "ground-zero" issue

I ask you to close your eyes and imagine that someone came up to you and asked you, " Are you in favor of the "ground-zero" mosque?"
Immediately, the work 'mosque' activates a flashing red alarm in your head. Horrible ideas and memories chase themselves around in your mind. Terrorists, 9/11, killers, the image of your family member dying in the rubble.
"NO!"
You immediately reply trying to banish these thoughts away. But let me just ask you one thing. Have you really gone up to a Muslim person and asked them what their values are? Have you really researched and looked into the details of the so called "ground-zero" mosque? Have you ever once thought that by acting in such a prejudiced manner, you might be tearing down everything that this country stands for? The answer to most of these questions is NO.
America is said to be "The Land of the Free", and is said to have "rights for all", but clearly we are going against limits.
In fact, what was proposed to be built was a community center, rec area, and other community services center, and was going to be used as a mosque on the side. In addition, this "mosque" as it is portrayed in the media, seems that it will be built ON ground zero, but in fact it is proposed to be built SEVERAL BLOCKS AWAY FROM ground zero. If this distance isn't okay than what is? Another boro? Another state? Another COUNTRY? Muslims do not deserve to be slowly but surely shoved out of this country.
I'm not saying that what happened on September 11, 2001 was a good thing, but that we Americans must not be tricked by the media, or be prejudice enough to believe that one certain group of people are just BAD and everyone coming from this group of any age is also labeled BAD by the American people.
Some are so blinded by prejudice that it leads them to do awful things. In NYC, a young man was riding in a taxi cab, and asked the cab driver if he was Muslim. When the cab driver replied "Yes", the man took out a knife and began slashing the cab driver with it viciously. The cab driver was injured in several places, like on his neck, face, and arms all of which he had to go to the hospital and get stitches for.

I'm not accusing anyone, or trying to tell anyone that they don't know what's going on. All I'm saying is to think critically and fairly. Then make your decision.

Hi once again! Today was the last day of e3 2009-2010. We had a graduation party sorta thing for those ecubers who were going to college or high school. Zaid and Taylor were going to private high schools and Sarah and Jeremy were going to college.
We had the ceremonial cutting of the watermelon, as we do every year, and we all said goodbye especially to Sarah and Jeremy, who have come such a long way in e-cubed.
Congratulations to them and may they have wonderful years to come!

What I'm doing this summer

This summer I'm going to be doing a bunch of different things. So, first of all, I am going to be going to a summer residential program (CTY) at a college in Pennsylvania on the 27th of June to about mid July. Oh yeah, and a little before then, I am going to watch an INCREDIBLY AWESOME play, preformed by the NRM, (A Midsummer Night's Dream) in which my friends Olivia, Hedaya, and Taylor are in (they're preforming it here first, then they're going to Martha's VIneyard!!!).<-- ya so thats gonna b awesome..
THEN in late July- early August, my super-duper bff of all time almost-sister cousin Aminah and her family are coming to visit us!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!! I haven't seen them in YEARS and YEARS!!!
All in all, my summer is going to be AWESOME, and I can't wait 'til it begins! :)

2nd Soccer Game of the Season

Hey. Me again! Today was the second to last soccer game of the season aka. the-best-ever-most-awesome-game-of-the-entire-spring-season. You know why? BECAUSE WE WON 3-0 AGAINST THE HARDEST TEAM!!! Every one of us played our absolute best, and my did it pay off! The weather was almost ideal (except for a bit of mugginess at the end which was bothersome). I can't believe we won, because first off all we had exactly eleven players, so all of us had to play the entire game. Also, two of the girls on the team got seriously hurt, Safa got hit in the nose with the ball and had to have it bandaged, and Jenna fell, and her opponent kicked her in the face instead of the ball!)
They played so wonderfully, though, and I couldn't believe that all that energy even existed after an injury!
Next week's the last game of the spring 2010 season. Wish me luck! ;)

More really awesome books

Hi. me again! So i'm just going to post a few really good books I've read since a few of my friends wanted me to recommend some good books.
If you're in to fantasy/mystery/a little horror, you should read the Blue is for Nightmares series by Laurie Faria Stolarz. It's REALLY good!
If you're into pure mystery, go for Agatha Christie, or if you're younger, Nancy Drew by Carolyn Keene. I really love the ABC Murders by Agatha Christie <3
If you are the environmetally friendly, maybe you would be intersted in Hoot by Carl Hiaasen of any of his other books.
Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen is also really good for someone whose just looking for something to read.
I recommend Smiles To Go by Jerry Spinelli if sibling rivalry is popular in your house! That's it for now.. c ya later :)

Kite Runner and Engineering

Hi again! Thursday, e-cubed today.. Book Club was a success (phew!)!! We discussed Kite Runner by Khaled Hossieni. Hannah did a really awesome job as discussion leader!! Engineering was building a car, and I was on a team called KGB (me, Jeremy, and Viktor). Our car seemed like an epic fail at first but it actually went a few centimeters forward!!!!! We nicknamed it Frosty the Snowman since we put it in the freezer to dry the hot glue.
Hannah won scum!!!!! (TWICE)

Books that I am writing

I love to write books. Right now, I am working on about three. The first has about 62 pages, and is called Freckled. It is about a 14 yr old girl named Katrina Simmons, who is looking for her abandoned older brother, and runs into a lot of trouble. It's funny, fast-paced, and has a lot of action. The second book I am writing is called Alyssa and has only 20 pgs right now. It is about another girl named Alyssa who is just your ordinary school kid, until the school recieves a call saying that it will be set on fire very soon. Alyssa's parents are away, traveling around the world with the ballet, and she has no idea what to do!
The last story I am writing is called Rhea Silvia, but I haven't decided on a real title for that one yet. It is about a lonely princess who lives with her parents in a castle. Someone steals the very precious Neiger Haliyaysis, a house made of lapis lazuli, and they all look for the robber. It's sort of a mystery. I really like the mix of fantasy and mystery beacause it gives a little twist to the whole princess-villain-monster-prince storyline.

My CUTE bunny, Miss Honey

I have a really cute bunny named Miss Honey, who I mentioned before. She is almost 10 weeks old, and is a lionhead rabbit. Lionhead rabbits have really fluffy fur, and a big puffy mane around their ears, which gives them their name, lionhead. She gets a bit feisty in the evenings, but she's a pretty calm bunny most of the time. Oh, and I forgot to mention, she LOVES to chew things! She'll chew her grassy mat, and the cotton sheet we drape over her cage at night. We even gave her a wooden carrot to chew once, and she DESTROYED it. That's Miss Honey for you!

Mock Trial

Mock Trial is a program where you form a team, study a case made by real lawyers, and compete against tons of other teams form different schools. Many of my friends I know from e3 participate in Mock Trial.

E-cubed

I attend a program on Thursday called E-cubed. It consists of 9 activities: Country Day, The Choice Formerly Known As Yours, Nature, Public Speaking, Sports, Games, Engineering, Movie Club, and Book Club. I lead book club at e-cubed. My favorite activities are Engineering, Country Day, and Public Speaking. The link to the website is http://e3.snieck.us/.
The book for this Book Club is Kite Runner by Khaled Hossieni.
